“Switzerland’s contribution to the EUR 81.6 billion Horizon 2020 budget works out at around CHF 4.4 billion over a seven-year period (this includes reserves and accompanying measures of around CHF 0.4 billion). FP6 (2003 – 2007)

  • Swiss contribution totalled CHF 775.3 million
  • Swiss researchers secured a total of CHF 794.5 million – 19.2 million more than was invested

FP7 (2007 – 2013)
As of January 2014 …

  • Swiss contribution totalled 1.6 billion Euro
  • Swiss researchers secured a total of 1.8 billion Euro – 200 million more than was invested
  • Swiss investment made to FP6 was 3.16% (1.6 billion Euro) of the total (50.5 billion Euro)

FP8 – The Swiss Federal Government has approved the investment of 4.4 billion CHF (about 3.6 billion Euros), or about 4.5% of the total 80 billion Euro budget – an increase of about 1.35% from investment into FP7.
